Jesus Hucksters March 2008

The early church fathers knew that some of the epistles ascribed to St Paul were bogus. They were not written by him at all. Yet they included them in the bible because they were so good and the church fathers felt that their inclusion would promote belief in Jesus. This is called a pious fraud. It is evident that these gentlemen had the ethics and morals of used car salesmen. Clearly, lying and cheating is OK as long as it promotes belief in the faith. So what can I do to help these gentlemen out? I think we need some gospels about the four footed companions of Jesus. I am thinking of writing The Gospel of Crypto the Wonderdog, the Hound of Jesus and the gospel of Hee-Haw, the Ass of Jesus. Crypto was a seven day sensation because he refused to lick his balls on Fridays and-- well you can see where I am heading
