Astounding Stories of Super Science Sept 2008
Until January 1931 the company was called Publishers Fiscal Corporation. Then Clayton bought out his partner and it became Clayton Magazines. In February 1932 the whole operation was moved to E 44 St. It was in the Lafayette St location though, that Clayton and editor Harry Bates conceived of the idea of Astounding Tales of Super Science and edited and published the magazine. Clayton ran into financial difficulties (reportedly heavy gambling debts) and lost his whole company in 3/1933.
