Fulton St EL II, Oct 2008

Now that I have seen the remains of two of the Brooklyn EL's (this and the Myrtle Ave EL), I am disappointed. They were starkly utilitarian in construction as opposed to the great beauty of the Third Ave El, with it's magnificent metal and stained glass work. Tearing down the Third Ave El without saving any of the metal and stained glass work ranks as an act of vandalism on the scale of the destruction of Penn Station.
